Work.

Pandemic**

More work.

Digital learning is SO hot right now.

Basically everything except my Animal Crossing island (Sladeonia Dream Address: DA-9001-5169-4210) and the allotment took a back seat to Work. Lockdown meant we had to completely revise our approach to L&D, pivoting to virtual classrooms and digital resources rather than classroom-based courses in nice hotels. It just so happened that we were working on a couple of blended solutions in the early months of 2020, so we didn’t go in completely blind, but it was still tough going. We took three courses that usually take place in a residential setting over five days and turned them into entirely blended learning experiences, delivered over virtual classrooms with digital resources. It’s a bit late now, but I’ll share some of my thoughts about stakeholder management, what works, what doesn’t and where I want to take this next. So…I’m back. Watch this space…

** FWIW I got COVID in the early days of lockdown, thanks to my partner working on the frontline at a university. It wasn’t so bad for me – I managed to work through most of it – but it got a bit scary with my partner for a little while. Ironically I still have a severely compromised sense of smell and taste. Coffee tastes like smoked cheese and alcohol tastes just weird.
