‘Has any aspect of Week 1 influenced my practice or my plans for personal and/or professional development?’
Not in terms of actual practice. But what I have got is a better understanding of how educators evaluate themselves in a formal setting, and I’ve got a few ideas on how I can apply that knowledge to a workplace learning environment that isn’t necessarily as homogeneous in practice as a formal education environment.
What happened?
Looked at the practice of open education in a little detail. Studied aspects of openness and how open works on an individual and institutional level
Studied the act of observation in some detail. I realise this is preparation for TMA03 but had trouble staying focused. Because it doesn’t have much relevance to my context.
What next?
Certainly the rubrics on what to look for in a learning observation will help assess the work on the online learning platform, but I’ll have to think about how we can bring the observations into the professional setup of the team, or even if we want to…
